Blue Sapphire Hub Foundation is excited to announce its participation as a partner in SYNAPSE – Systems Shift EU-Africa: Empowering Youth through Systems Thinking and Transcontinental Exchange, an Erasmus+ co-funded initiative that brings together organizations and universities from Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa to equip young people with the skills needed to address today's complex global challenges.

Our participation in SYNAPSE reflects our continued commitment to advancing youth leadership, digital innovation, entrepreneurship, and inclusive development across Nigeria and beyond.
What is SYNAPSE?
SYNAPSE is more than a youth exchange project—it is a collaborative learning platform that helps young people understand how today's challenges are interconnected. From climate change and digital transformation to social inclusion and economic development, the project introduces participants to systems thinking, a practical approach that encourages looking beyond individual problems to understand the wider systems that shape them.
Over the course of the project, SYNAPSE aims to engage 2,500 young people and develop a network of 200 trained youth facilitators from Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa. Through virtual exchanges, collaborative learning, experiential activities, and intercultural dialogue, participants will gain the knowledge and confidence to become active changemakers within their communities.
What Does the Project Offer?

Blue Sapphire Hub Foundation's Role
As a consortium partner, Blue Sapphire Hub Foundation supports Work Package 3: Youth Facilitators Development. Our role focuses on preparing a diverse group of youth facilitators who will lead inclusive and engaging virtual exchanges throughout the project.
Our contributions include:
- Supporting the recruitment and selection of youth facilitators through an inclusive process.
- Delivering capacity-building activities on systems thinking and digital facilitation.
- Coordinating co-design laboratories where facilitators develop practical online engagement methods.
- Supporting local systems mapping exercises that explore community challenges.
- Organizing mock virtual exchange sessions to strengthen facilitation, leadership, and intercultural communication skills before implementation.
Drawing on our experience in digital skills development, innovation ecosystem building, startup support, and youth empowerment, Blue Sapphire Hub Foundation is committed to ensuring that young people from Nigeria have meaningful opportunities to participate, learn, and collaborate with peers across continents.
