CATCH EM YOUNG
Engaging KIDS,TWEEN AND TEEN with ICT and entrepreneurship skills
The programme is aimed at enhancing the technical skills of young boys and girls by giving them an avenue to have thorough practical trainings of core ICT skills from basic digital skills to block programming and core programming such as python etc.
In December 2015 we launched Catch em Young programme. This programme targets to educate young girls and boys to ICT core programming skills. It is aimed to improve their creativity, problem solving skills and critical thinking. We have gotten support and endorsement from governmental organization through this programme (National Information Technology Development Agency, Kano Secondary School Management Board, Kano Science and Technology Schools Board, Enercate her). Since inception we have been able to reach over 500 young girls and boys. 40% of the participants are now full stack developer while the rest are still in the learning stage. These developers some of them are becoming proficient in PHP, JavaScript, Java and python.
