Women in Tech, an initiative of Blue Sapphire hub, was launched in 2016, and designed to tackle the challenges of shortage of women in the IT sector in Nigeria. and bridge the digital inclusion gap between men and women. A special focus lies on women between the ages of 18-40 years old in the grass root operating or aspiring to start a business. Enhancing digital inclusion and economic empowerment of businesswomen leads to better lives for the women and their families, and ultimately to a more robust and economic inclusive growth in Nigeria. We do this by encouraging, training in digital skills and providing a 5% interest loan for young women in Nigeria to thrive and create decent and sustainable means of income.
